Eva and her companion Doris in a typical Dutch field near their home. Doris is a gentle dog rescued from Romania. She is quickly unsettled by people or dogs she doesn't know but shares a special bond with her companion Eva.
Eva Meijer stands in her garden in Landsmeer, Holland. She keeps her garden as green and wild as possible to provide a home for as many native plants, birds, insects and other animals as possible - a practice that is not very common in the Netherlands.
There are two groups of rescued former lab mice living with Eva Meijer. She likes to observe their behaviour and sometimes plays music for them on her ukulele.
